Resumo Objetivou-se verificar a composição florístico-estrutural das plântulas regenerantes a partir do banco de sementes de três áreas em recuperação pós-distúrbios antrópicos, em ambientes alto-montanos do Parque Nacional de São Joaquim. As áreas 1 (A1) e 2 (A2) foram originadas da regeneração após o corte de remanescentes florestais e a área 3 (A3) foi originada da regeneração de campo nativo após práticas de pastoreio. As três áreas encontram-se protegidas há quase dez anos após a finalização dos distúrbios. Foram instaladas transecções de 20 × 100 m em cada área, subdivididas em 20 parcelas de 10 × 10 m, nas quais foram coletadas amostras de solos e serapilheira, totalizando 60 amostras. Os materiais coletados foram conduzidos à casa de vegetação, onde foram submetidos ao mesmo tratamento, com irrigação diária por aspersão. Foi realizada a avaliação quali-quantitativa mensal das plântulas emergentes, identificando-as e classificando-as quanto à origem (nativa ou exótica) e às formas de vida. Foram amostradas 5.604 plântulas, distribuídas em 62 táxons. Houve predominância de espécies herbáceas (74,2%) e nativas (67,7%), sendo Cyperus odoratus L. e Juncus capillaceus Lam. as mais abundantes. As áreas originadas a partir de desmatamentos apresentaram maior heterogeneidade de espécies e hábitos e maior densidade de plântulas regenerantes do banco de sementes, quando comparado com a área de Campo de Altitude. Conclui-se que o banco de sementes das áreas alto-montanas estudadas apresenta potencial de colonização imediata após distúrbios, com elevada riqueza e densidade de espécies herbáceas, que garantem o recobrimento do solo e, assim, o início e o suporte necessário para o avanço da dinâmica sucessional.

Abstract We aimed to verify the floristic-structural composition of regenerative seedlings of seed banks from areas under anthropic post-disturbance restoration process, in “Planalto Sul Catarinense” region, upper-montane environments. In each of three sites (Area 1, 2 and 3) at São Joaquim National Park, protected for almost ten years, but with different land-use history, we allocated one 20 x 100 m transect, sub-divided in 20 plots, where a total of 60 samples of soil and litter were collected. While the Areas 1 (A1) and 2 (A2) were originally covered by natural forest, the Area 3 (A3) can be considered as cattle raising grassland. In a greenhouse, all the collected material was submitted to the same procedure, with daily sprinkler irrigation. After the seed germination in trays, we performed a monthly qualitative and quantitative evaluation of emergent seedlings that were identified and classified according to origin (native and exotic) and life form. In one year, 5,604 seedlings were counted, belonging to 62 taxa. There was predominance of herbs (74.2%) and native species (67.7%), being Cyperus odoratus L. and Juncus capillaceus Lam. the most abundant. When compared to the original grassland area, those originated from past deforestation showed a greater species and life form heterogeneity as well as greater seedling density emergence from the collected seed bank. We concluded that the studied seed banks have the potential to support a prompt seedling colonization after disturbances, ensuring the soil cover, and thus, the necessary initial support for the advance of successional dynamics.

Resumo Avaliou-se a dinâmica do componente arbóreo e regenerante em uma floresta nebular, na região do Planalto Sul Catarinense, com o objetivo de se conhecer o processo de desenvolvimento da vegetação ao longo do tempo. Para isso, foram instaladas parcelas permanentes onde foram caracterizados os componentes adulto e regenerante, respectivamente, nos anos de 2011 e 2013. Todas as espécies amostradas foram classificadas quanto à guilda de regeneração em pioneiras, climácicas exigentes em luz e climácicas tolerantes ao sombreamemto. No ano de 2015, foi realizado o segundo inventário dos componentes vegetacionais, sendo determinado o crescimento dos sobreviventes (somente adultos) e contabilizados os indivíduos recrutados e mortos. Para cada uma das populações, foram determinadas as taxas de mudança líquida em número de indivíduos (adultos e regenerantes) e em área basal (adultos). Foram realizados testes de proporções para verificar se a representatividade das diferentes guildas de regeneração se alterou entre os anos avaliados. Os resultados indicaram que a floresta se encontra em um processo de estruturação, caracterizado pelo ganho em número de indivíduos e em área basal. Por outro lado, observou-se estabilidade na riqueza e na representatividade das guildas de regeneração, com destaque para a maior participação de espécies classificadas como clímax exigentes em luz. Conclui-se que a floresta avaliada se encontra em estruturação, com o favorecimento da regeneração de espécies exigentes em luz.

Abstract The dynamics of adult and regenerative tree species components was assessed in a cloud forest in the South Plateau of Santa Catarina state, southern Brazil, seeking a better understanding of the process of vegetation development. To this end, permanent sampling plots were allocated, where the adult and regenerative components were characterized, respectively, in 2011 and 2013. All surveyed species were classified according to regeneration guilds into pioneer, light-demanding climax, and shade-tolerant climax. In 2015, a second tree species component survey was conducted to determine the growth of surviving individuals (adults) and count the recruited and dead individuals. For each population, the net change rates for individuals (adults and regenerative) and basal area (only adults) were determined. Proportion tests were conducted to verify whether representativeness of the regeneration guilds changed over the study period. The results showed that the forest investigated is undergoing a structuring process characterized by gains in number of individuals and basal area. In contrast, stability in species richness and representativeness of regeneration guilds was verified, with highlight for light-demanding climax species. In conclusion, the assessed forest is undergoing a structuring phase that favors the regeneration of light-demanding species.

Resumen Marco contextual: El injerto renal actúa como un cuerpo extraño en el organismo del paciente, por lo que constituye un procedimiento que induce una intensa reacción inflamatoria. Objetivo: El objetivo es evaluar la caracterización clínica de las personas sometidas a un trasplante renal con sensibilización inmunológica. Metodología: Se trata de un estudio descriptivo, documental y retrospectivo, con un enfoque cuantitativo en el tratamiento y el análisis de los datos, realizado de junio a agosto de 2019. Resultados: Se observó una relación estadística entre los anticuerpos específicos del donante (DSA) y la disfunción del injerto (p < 0,03) y el embarazo (p < 0,04). La aparición de complicaciones también se cruzó con la duración de la estancia hospitalaria (p < 0,00) y el valor de la creatinina sérica en la primera semana postrasplante (p < 0,006). Conclusión: Según las características clínicas, la mayoría presentó disfunción del injerto, presencia de DSA y complicaciones. Con esto, se apunta la necesidad de un seguimiento crítico e individualizado del paciente sometido a un trasplante.

Resumo Enquadramento: O enxerto renal atua como um corpo estranho no organismo do doente, constituindo-se, assim, como um procedimento indutor de intensa reação inflamatória. Objetivo: Objetivou-se avaliar a caracterização clínica de pessoas submetidas a transplante renal com a sensibilização imunológica. Metodologia: Trata-se de um estudo descritivo, documental e retrospectivo, com abordagem quantitativa de tratamento e análise de dados, realizado de junho a agosto de 2019. Resultados: Evidenciou-se estatisticamente a relação do anticorpos doador-específicos (DSA) com a disfunção de enxerto (p < 0,03) e a gravidez (p < 0,04). Realizou- se também o cruzamento da ocorrência de complicação com tempo de internamento (p < 0,00) e o valor da creatinina sérica na primeira semana pós-transplante (p < 0,006). Conclusão: De acordo com as características clínicas, a maioria apresentou disfunção do enxerto, presença de DSA e complicações. Com isto, aponta-se a necessidade de um acompanhamento crítico e individualizado do paciente transplantado.

Abstract Background: The kidney transplant is a foreign body in the patient’s organism, thus constituting a procedure that triggers an intense inflammatory reaction. Objective: To assess the clinical characteristics of people undergoing kidney transplantation with immune sensitization. Methodology: A descriptive, documentary, and retrospective study with a quantitative approach to data treatment and analysis was carried out between June and August 2019. Results: The association between donor-specific antibodies (DSA) and graft dysfunction (p < 0.03) and pregnancy (p < 0.04) was statistically significant. The occurrence of complications was also associated with the length of hospital stay (p < 0.00) and serum creatinine levels in the first week after transplant (p < 0.006). Conclusion: The clinical characterization showed that most patients had graft dysfunction, DSA, and complications, meaning that transplanted patients require a critical and individualized follow-up.

RESUMO Tem como objetivo investigar o contexto histórico do desenvolvimento das ideias que culminaram com o surgimento dos agentes de mineração. Pressupõe, hoje, que cerca de metade da informação processada na Internet é feita por agentes o que estimula uma discussão sobre o papel dos bots na contemporaneidade, bem como da relação destes com pessoas e seus dados. A justificativa deste trabalho se dá pela observação do cenário atual em que tais agentes já interagem com as pessoas e pelo distanciamento presumido, do objeto de estudo que resulta na escassez de publicações a partir da CI. Apresenta como as necessidades informacionais que impulsionaram o surgimento da Ciência da Informação também inspiraram a criação dos agentes de mineração. O Procedimento metodológico utilizado foi uma revisão bibliográfica que parte do desejo de Leibniz em criar o Calculus Ratiocinator e segue até a contemporânea teoria das Máquinas Sociais. Sugere como conclusão, por um lado, que a CI já desenvolveu o seu olhar sobre a evolução dos Agentes de Mineração, que a princípio era atribuída, apenas, à lógica e matemática, e por outro lado articular estas desconexas e esparsas visões dos contextos próprios dos agentes de mineração.

ABSTRACT Aims to investigate the historical context of the development of ideas that culminated in emergence of mining agents. Half of the information processing on the Internet is made by agents stimulating the discussion about the role of bots in the contemporary world, as well as their relationship with people and their data. The justification of this work is the observation of the current scenario in which such agents already interact with the people and by the presumed distancing of the object of study that results in the scarcity of publications from the IS. It presents how the informational needs that drove the emergence of Information Science also inspired the creation of mining agents. The methodological procedure used was a bibliographical revision that starts from the desire of Leibniz in creating the Calculus Ratiocinator and follows until the contemporary theory of the Social Machines. It suggests as a conclusion, on the one hand, that IS has already developed its view on the evolution of Mining Agents, which was initially attributed only to logic and mathematics, and on the other hand to articulate these disjointed and disparate visions of their own contexts Of mining agents.

ABSTRACT: Land use and tillage practices may change soil structure and undermine sustainable agriculture; however, such changes are hardly identified in the short term. In this sense, agroforestry systems have been used to reduce soil degradation and promote sustainable production in coffee plantations. These areas are expected to have well-structured soils and hence improved root distribution. This study aimed to evaluate soil quality by the morphostructural and root distribution analyses comparing open-grown coffee and coffee in agroforestry systems with rubber trees for 19 years, in an Oxisol in northern Paraná State (Brazil). Treatments consisted of open-grown coffee (OG), coffee partially shaded by rubber trees (PSH), and coffee fully shaded by rubber trees (FSH). The mapping of morphostructural features and soil resistance to penetration in “cultural profile” walls identified changes in soil structure resulting from different tillage systems. Root distribution was better in coffee plants grown in PSH and FSH systems. At greater depths, cultural profiles of FSH and PSH showed a larger numbers of roots compared to OG. Among the three systems, PSH provided a better environment for root growth and distribution. This result could be attributed to the high biological activity and interaction between roots and aggregates in that profile. The FSH agroforestry system provided less compact morphological structures and more roots throughout the soil profile. The agroforestry systems presented fewer soil structural changes by tillage operations and lower values of soil penetration resistance. Coffee root distribution was an effective indicator of soil quality and consistent with the morphostructural characterization of cultural profile.

Resumo Introdução Terapeutas ocupacionais compõem as equipes que prestam assistência a idosos frágeis em diferentes contextos de atenção, dentre eles saúde, assistência social e cultura. Objetivo Identificar a atuação de terapeutas ocupacionais com idosos frágeis. Método Estudo qualitativo e exploratório. Realizaram-se entrevistas com terapeutas ocupacionais que atuam com idosos frágeis na cidade de São Paulo, SP, Brasil, utilizando roteiro semiestruturado de questões. Empregou-se a técnica “bola de neve”. Os resultados foram analisados por meio da análise de conteúdo temático-categorial. Resultados Foram entrevistadas nove terapeutas ocupacionais atuantes na saúde, assistência social e cultura. As categorias encontradas foram: I) ações desenvolvidas por terapeutas ocupacionais na assistência a idosos frágeis; II) trabalho em equipe e articulação de saberes, contribuições e desafios; III) articulação de redes e intersetorialidade; IV) aspectos relevantes na assistência integral a idosos frágeis. As entrevistadas realizam ações diversificadas, considerando a inserção cultural e social do idoso e as políticas públicas; compartilhadas com profissionais da equipe e com serviços da rede setorial e intersetorial; além de incluírem cuidadores na assistência prestada aos idosos frágeis. Conclusão Dentre os desafios encontrados pelas terapeutas ocupacionais na atuação com idosos frágeis, encontra-se a incorporação das premissas da integralidade, intersetorialidade e trabalho em equipe. As diferentes ações realizadas estão amparadas nas políticas públicas para o envelhecimento, e buscam o cuidado singular baseado na complexidade biopsicossocial e nos aspectos contextuais que influenciam o envelhecimento. Os resultados indicam a necessidade de ampliação da inserção de terapeutas ocupacionais em equipes que ofertam cuidados para idosos frágeis em diferentes contextos de atenção.

Abstract Introduction Occupational therapists make up the teams that provide assistance to frail elderly people in different care contexts, including health, social assistance and culture. Objective To identify the role of occupational therapists who work with frail elderly people. Method Qualitative and exploratory study. Interviews were carried out with occupational therapists who work with frail elderly people in the city of São Paulo, SP, Brazil, using a semi-structured script of questions. “Snowball sampling” was used. The results were analyzed using thematic-categorical content analysis. Results Nine occupational therapists working in health, social care and culture were interviewed. The categories found were: I) actions developed by occupational therapists in assisting frail elderly people; II) teamwork and articulation of knowledge, contributions and challenges; III) articulation of networks and intersectoriality; IV) relevant aspects in comprehensive care for frail elderly people. The interviewees perform diversified actions, considering the cultural and social insertion of the elderly and public policies; shared with team professionals and with services from the sectorial and intersectorial network; included caregivers in the assistance provided to the frail elderly. Conclusion Among the challenges faced by occupational therapists in working with frail elderly people, there is the incorporation of the premises of integrality, intersectoriality and teamwork. The different actions taken are supported by public policies for aging, and seek unique care based on biopsychosocial complexity and contextual aspects that influence aging. The results indicate the need to expand the insertion of occupational therapists in teams that offer care to frail elderly people in different care contexts.

Resumo Espécies invasoras têm ocasionado a perda de biodiversidade no mundo todo por ocuparem o lugar de nativas. O presente estudo objetivou avaliar a regeneração natural ao longo do tempo em um fragmento florestal invadido por Ligustrum lucidum W.T. Aiton e Ligustrum sinense Lour. no sul do Brasil, a fim de quantificar essa invasão. Para isso, foram alocadas cinco transecções em um fragmento de Floresta Ombrófila Mista em Lages (SC), sendo cada transecção dividida em parcelas com diferentes setores de distâncias da borda e em subparcelas para avaliação do componente regenerativo. Em 2012, os regenerantes de espécies arbóreas que se encontravam nas subparcelas foram identificados, plaqueteados e divididos nas seguintes classes: classe 1 _ plantas com altura entre 10 cm e 1 m; classe 2 _ plantas com altura entre 1 e 3 m; classe 3 _ plantas com altura maior que 3 m e diâmetro medido à altura do peito (DAP) menor que 5 cm. Em 2014, esses indivíduos foram reavaliados, contabilizando os indivíduos mortos e recrutas e enquadrando os sobreviventes e recrutas nas atuais classes. Foram calculadas as taxas de mortalidade, recrutamento, mudanças de classe e mudança líquida. Os dados foram analisados por meio de uma análise de componentes principais (ACP) e tabela de contingência. Conclui-se que as espécies superaram a fase inicial do processo de invasão, demonstrando elevado incremento populacional na área estudada. Ainda, ficou evidenciado o particionamento espacial entre as espécies nativas e as exóticas, o que sugere a existência de competição interespecífica, cuja consequência pode ser a extinção local de representantes do grupo autóctone.

Abstract The replacement of native species by invasive species has caused a worldwide loss of biodiversity. This study aimed to evaluate the natural regeneration over time in a forest fragment invaded by Ligustrum lucidum W.T. Aiton and Ligustrum sinense Lour. in southern Brazil, in order to quantify this invasion. To do so, five transects were allocated in a fragment of Araucaria Forest in Lages, Santa Catarina state, with each transect divided into plots in different categories of distance from the edge and into sub-plots for the evaluation of the regenerative component. In 2012, the regenerating tree species identified in the sub-plots were tagged and classified according to height classes: Class 1, plants with height between 10 cm and 1 m; class 2, plants with height between 1 and 3 m; and Class 3, plants with a height greater than 3 m and DBH (diameter measured at breast height) less than 5 cm. In 2014, these individuals were re-evaluated, counting the dead and recruited individuals and classifying the survivors and recruits into the existing height classes. Rates of mortality, recruitment, net change, and height class changes were calculated. The data were analyzed by a Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and contingency table. It was concluded that the species overcame the early stage of the invasion process, demonstrating great population growth in the study area. Also, a spatial partitioning between native and exotic species was observed, suggesting the existence of interspecific competition, the result of which may be the local extinction of species from the autochthonous group.

Resumo O presente estudo objetivou analisar a dinâmica do componente arbóreo em floresta com araucária em função da distância da borda, em Santa Catarina, Brasil. Foram realizados levantamentos da vegetação em 2011 e 2015, pelo método de parcelas permanentes, em cinco transeções contendo dez parcelas de 200 m2 cada, sendo as cinco primeiras parcelas (0-50 m) definidas como setor borda e as cinco últimas (50-100 m) como interior. Em 2011, os indivíduos arbóreos foram inventariados e em 2015 os sobreviventes e mortos foram quantificados e os recrutas incorporados ao levantamento. Foram calculadas as taxas de mortalidade e recrutamento e as espécies foram classificadas em guildas de regeneração. Os resultados demonstraram que a dinâmica da comunidade não diferiu entre os setores, porém as guildas de regeneração apresentaram diferentes performances em função da distância da borda, com espécies existentes em luz favorecidas na borda e espécies tolerantes ao sombreamento no interior. Conclui-se que a fragmentação florestal tem o potencial de impactar negativamente o componente arbóreo na floresta com araucária.

Abstract This study aimed to analyze the tree component dynamics in an araucaria forest in function of fragment edge distance in the Santa Catarina state, Brazil. To do so, we conducted the vegetation surveys in 2011 and 2015, through permanent plots, in five sampling transects, containing ten 200 m2 plots for each one. The first five plots (0-50 m) were defined as edge sector and the last five plots (50-100 m) were considered as interior sector. In 2011, tree individuals were surveyed, with the recruit and dead individuals counted in 2015. The rates of mortality and recruitment were determined, and the species were classified into regeneration guilds. The study showed that there was no difference in tree community dynamics between the analyzed sectors, but the regeneration guilds presented different performance in function of edge distance, with light-demanding species succeeding in edge and shade-tolerant species performing better in the interior. We conclude that forest fragmentation has the potential to impact negatively the tree component in Araucaria forest.

It has been recurring adulterations in fuels (such as gasoline, ethanol and diesel), being necessary the exploration of the use of more modern analytical techniques capable of controlling the quality of these fuels, since some regulated tests may be inefficient to detect the adulteration. Among them, it is highlighted proton nuclear magnetic resonance (1H NMR) spectroscopy, and portable near infrared spectroscopy (microNIR). In this work, it was studied the conformities of 115 samples of seized fuels (76 of gasoline, 23 of ethanol, and 16 of diesel) by means of standardized techniques with parameters established by the ANP. Results obtained were compared to photometer, MicroNIR and 1H NMR analyzes. The analyzes carried out by ANP showed four nonconforming samples (one of gasoline and three of ethanol). By the photometric technique, only 14 gasoline samples had ethanol content permitted by legislation (i.e ≈ 27 %v/v). By 1H NMR analysis, it was possible to verify nonconformities by presence of aromatics and olefins compounds in the gasoline and diesel samples as well as of methanol in fuel ethanol samples. It is also worth noting the efficiency of MicroNIR when combined with unsupervised chemometric methods to indicate nonconformities presented by 1H NMR and photometry techniques.

Resumo: O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar o efeito de diferentes sistemas de manejo sobre o grau de dispersão de argila e sua relação com os atributos químicos do solo e o índice de qualidade participativo (IQP) do sistema plantio direto, em áreas de microbacias do Oeste do Paraná. Os sistemas de manejo avaliados foram: sistema plantio direto; plantio direto com sucessão de culturas; plantio direto com revolvimento do solo; e sistema convencional. Além disso, os sistemas de manejo foram avaliados quanto ao seu IQP. Amostras de solo foram coletadas a 0,0-0,20 m de profundidade do solo, em 40 áreas agrícolas e em 6 matas nativas tidas como referências. Foram avaliados grau de dispersão de argila, carbono orgânico total, pH (em CaCl2), potássio trocável (K+), fósforo disponível (P), cálcio e magnésio trocáveis (Ca2++Mg2+), e acidez potencial (H+Al3+). Ajustou-se um modelo de regressão linear múltipla pelo método dos mínimos quadrados. Realizou-se a comparação de médias do grau de dispersão de argila, por microbacia, a 5% de probabilidade. Os sistemas de manejo foram comparados pelo teste de Scott-Knott. Os atributos químicos do solo apresentaram maior influência sobre a dispersão da argila do que os diferentes sistemas de manejo avaliados. O sistema plantio direto integral apresentou o maior teor de carbono orgânico, que foi semelhante ao das áreas nativas. O sistema convencional e o plantio direto com revolvimento do solo apresentaram menor IQP e maiores taxas de dispersão de argila do que as áreas sob sistema plantio direto integral. O IQP permite diferenciar os sistemas de manejo convencional e plantio direto.

Abstract: The objective of this work was to evaluate the effect of different farm systems on clay dispersion and its relationship with soil chemical properties and the no-tillage system participatory quality index (IQP), in watershed areas in the west of the state of Paraná, Brazil. The farm systems evaluated were: no-tillage; no-tillage with crop succession; no-tillage with soil disturbance; and conventional system. In addition, the farm systems were evaluated for their IQP. Soil samples were collected at 0.0-0.20-m soil depth, in 40 agricultural areas and in 6 native forests considered as references. The degree of clay dispersion, total organic carbon, pH (CaCl2), exchangeable potassium (K+), available phosphorus (P), exchangeable calcium and magnesium (Ca2++Mg2+), and potential acidity (H+Al3+) were determined. A linear multiple regression model was fitted by the method of least squares. The averages of clay dispersion degree per watershed were compared at 5% probability. The farm systems were compared by Scott-Knott’s test. Soil chemical properties showed a higher influence on clay dispersion than the different farm systems assessed. The no-tillage system alone showed the highest content of organic carbon, which was similar to those of the native areas. The conventional system and the no-tillage system with soil disturbance showed a lower IQP and a higher degree of clay dispersion than the areas with the no-tillage system alone. The IQP allows distinguishing the conventional system from the no-tillage system.

ABSTRACT: The natural regeneration process is essential for forest maintenance since it is critical for establishing new tree individuals. This study aimed to improve the understanding of the regenerative component dynamics of Araucaria Forests in Southern Brazil. We investigated the effects of climate, light, tree component structure and anthropogenic disturbance on tree species regeneration. Regenerating communities from six different fragments in forest remnants of the “Planalto Sul Catarinense” region was evaluated in permanent plots two years after the first inventory. The following demographic rates were determined: recruitment, mortality, net change in the number of individuals and the changes to both upper and lower height classes. The following variables were measured in each fragment: altitude, climatic variables, light environment, tree component density and cattle presence. Association between dynamics rates, regenerating species abundance and explanatory variables was verified by the fourth-corner and RLQ methods. A total of 4,379 and 5,268 individuals were sampled for the first and second inventories, respectively, with recruitment rate (21 % yr−1) higher than mortality rate (13 % yr−1). The dynamics pattern of the fragment with greater presence of cattle stood out for the intense height increase of regenerating species caused by the presence of fast growth and light-demanding species. Natural regeneration of forest remnants under study is facing a structuring process. The main conclusions of this study were: i) climate and altitude play a relevant role in defining floristic identity and ii) chronic disturbances may influence the definition of ecological strategies.

ABSTRACT Objectives: To describe cytogenetic and molecular abnormalities observed in children and adolescents with acute myeloid leukemia (AML), classify AML according to the World Health Organization (WHO) classifications from 2008 and 2016, and evaluate the prognosis according to clinical characteristics and cytogenetic abnormalities. Methods: A retrospective longitudinal study was performed on a population of 98 patients with AML, aged up to 16 years, seen in a single hospital from 2004 to 2015. Results: Among the 80 patients for whom it was possible to analyze the karyotype, 78.7% had chromosomal changes, the most frequent being t(15;17)(q22;q21). Of the 86 patients for whom we had cytogenetic or molecular data, making it possible to classify their AML according to the WHO classification, 52.3% belonged to the group with recurrent genetic abnormalities, 22% to the "AML not otherwise specified" group, 18.6% to the group with myelodysplasia-related cytogenetic changes, and 7% to the group with Down syndrome-related leukemia. Five-year overall survival (OS) for the whole group was 49.7% ± 5.2%. In the univariate and multivariate analyses, patients with myelodysplasia-related cytogenetic changes (OS 28.1% ± 12.2%) and those with "AML not otherwise specified" (OS 36.1% ± 11.2%) had an unfavorable prognosis when compared to patients with AML with recurrent genetic abnormalities (OS 71% ± 5.8%) and patients with Down syndrome-related AML (OS 83% ± 15.2%, p = 0.011). Conclusions: The results corroborate the importance of cytogenetic abnormalities as a prognostic factor and indicate the need for cooperative and prospective studies to evaluate the applicability of the WHO classification in the pediatric population.

Resumo O objetivo deste estudo foi conhecer os padrões demográficos da regeneração natural do componente arbustivo-arbóreo e determinar se esses são influenciados pelas variáveis ambientais, em três áreas abertas em regeneração natural (diâmetro na altura do peito < 5 cm), em contato com fragmentos florestais de Floresta Ombrófila Mista Alto-Montana, no Planalto Sul Catarinense. Foram instaladas três transecções, uma por área, de 20 x 100 m, subdividas em subparcelas de 10 x 10 m, perpendiculares à borda dos fragmentos, com sua extensão cobrindo a área de campo. Amostraram-se todos os indivíduos regenerantes arbustivo-arbóreos com 20 cm ou mais de altura. Em cada subparcela, foram coletados os seguintes dados ambientais: propriedades físico-químicas dos solos, grau de compactação dos solos e cota altimétrica. Um ano após o inventário, foram obtidas as taxas de dinâmica para as três comunidades e para as populações, e os padrões encontrados foram relacionados com as variáveis ambientais. Os dados foram analisados por meio de testes de Kruskal-Wallis, testes de comparações múltiplas, teste de qui-quadrado aplicado à tabela de contingência, teste de correlação, Análise de Componentes Principais (PCA) e modelos lineares mistos. Os resultados demonstraram que, no período estudado, o processo de regeneração natural do componente arbustivo-arbóreo encontra-se em fase inicial e foi caracterizado pelo incremento na abundância de indivíduos, estabilidade na riqueza, independência espacial entre a mortalidade e o recrutamento e limitação do recrutamento em função da baixa fertilidade natural do solo e elevada disponibilidade de Al.

Abstract The study aimed to understand the dynamic patterns of natural regeneration of shrub-tree species and determine whether these patterns are influenced by environmental variables, in three open areas in natural regeneration (diameter at breast height < 5 cm), in contact to upper-montane Araucaria Forest fragments, located in the Southern Plateau of Santa Catarina state. Three 20x100 m transects, subdivided into sub-plots of 10x10 m, were installed in each area, perpendicular to the edge of the fragments with their length covering the grassland area. All shrub-tree regenerating individuals greater than or equal to 20 cm height were sampled. In each sub-plot, the environmental data were collected: soil physico-chemical properties, the degree of soil compaction and the altimetric quota. One year after the first inventory, the dynamics rates were obtained for the three community and populations, and the found patterns related to environmental variables. The data were analyzed through Kruskal-Wallis tests, multiple comparison tests, chi-square test, applied to a contingency table, Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and linear mixed models. The results demonstrated that during the evaluated period, the natural regeneration process of the shrub-tree component is found in an early stage and it was characterized by abundance increment, richness stability, spatial independency between mortality and recruitment, and recruitment limitation in function of low soil natural fertility and high Al availability.

RESUMO O presente estudo teve como objetivo investigar o impacto do enchimento do reservatório de uma usina hidrelétrica sobre as taxas de dinâmica do componente arbóreo em uma floresta adjacente. Para isso, foram alocadas 48 parcelas em três setores do fragmento: adjacente às margens do reservatório, meio da encosta e topo da encosta. Um ano após o enchimento do reservatório, todos os indivíduos arbóreos com circunferência a altura do peito (CAP) ≥ 15,7 cm foram avaliados (identificados e mensurados), e dois anos após o enchimento foi realizado o estudo de dinâmica, com as árvores sobreviventes remedidas, as mortas quantificadas e as recrutas incorporadas. Foi realizado o levantamento das variáveis ambientais edáficas, topográficas, de abertura do dossel e de impacto ambiental. Foram calculadas as taxas de dinâmica. Para ordenação das variáveis ambientais foi aplicada uma Análise de Componentes Principais (PCA) e a influência de gradientes ambientais sobre as taxas demográficas da comunidade foi verificada por meio de regressão logística. A dinâmica apresentou estabilidade no número de indivíduos, porém, com maior ganho (3,64%.ano-1) que perda (1,62%.ano-1) em área basal. Entre os setores houve distinções, sendo o setor 1 caracterizado pela maior taxa de perda em área basal (2,51%.ano-1). Houve pouca relação das taxas demográficas com as variáveis ambientais analisadas, indicando que a maior influência encontrada sobre o crescimento das árvores está associada a variáveis não mensuradas. O presente estudo indica que, dois anos após o enchimento do reservatório, foi possível perceber os primeiros efeitos da influência do lago da hidrelétrica na comunidade arbórea.

ABSTRACT We aimed to investigate the impact of the water reservoir of a hydroelectric power station on the tree component dynamics in an adjacent forest. For this, we allocated 48 plots in three sectors: bottom, adjacent to water reservoir, middle slope and upper slope. One year after the water filling, we measured (circumference at breast height - cbh and identified all trees with cbh) ≥ 15,7 cm, followed by the dynamics study in the next year, with the re-measurement of survival trees and quantification of mortality and recruitment. We evaluated environmental variables (edaphics, topographics and environmental impacts). We determined the dynamics rates and applied a Principal Component Analysis (PCA) to the ordination of environmental variables and analyzed the influence of environmental gradients on community demographics rates through logistic regression. The dynamics presented number of individuals stability, but a greater basal area gain (3.64%.year-1) than loss (1.62%.year-1). There were differences among sectors, with a greater loss in bottom sector (2.51%.year-1) than others. There was a weak relation between analyzed environmental variables, suggesting that trees growth is mostly related to non-measured variables. The present study indicates that, two years after the water filling, it is possible to detect the short-term impacts of the reservoir of hydroelectric power station on tree community.

Resumo Objetivou-se inferir sobre os mecanismos de invasão (oportunismo x competição) de Ligustrum lucidum em um fragmento de floresta com araucária em Lages, Santa Catarina. O fragmento foi inventariado nos anos de 2012 e 2015, por meio de parcelas, onde foram avaliados os indivíduos arbóreos com DAP maior ou igual a 5,0 cm. As parcelas foram classificadas em invadidas (I) e não invadidas (NI) por L. lucidum e foram calculadas as taxas de dinâmica para a comunidade e populações. A influência de L. lucidum sobre as taxas da comunidade foi investigada por meio de regressões logísticas e o padrão de coexistência das espécies nos setores I e NI pelo índice de c-score. No fragmento, foram observadas maiores taxas de recrutamento do que mortalidade e maior ganho do que perda em área basal. A comunidade apresentou maior recrutamento nos locais com maior abundância de L. lucidum. Enquanto nas parcelas NI observou-se a segregação espacial das espécies, nas parcelas I as mesmas ocorreram de forma aleatória. Conclui-se que L. lucidum está aumentando sua importância relativa na comunidade, estando associado a parcelas desestruturadas em relação ao padrão de co-ocorrência das espécies, o que sugere seu caráter oportunista.

Abstract The objective of this study was to infer the mechanisms of invasion (opportunism vs. competition) of Ligustrum lucidum in an Araucaria Forest fragment, in the municipallity of Lages, SC. This fragment was inventoried in 2012 and 2015, through plots, where tree individuals with dbh greater than or equal to 5.0 cm were evaluated. The plots were classified as invaded (I) or non-invaded (NI) by L. lucidum and the dynamics rates were determined for the tree community and populations. The influence of L. lucidum presence on demographic rates of community was evaluated by logistic regressions and the evaluation of species coexistence in I and NI sectors was performed by c-score index. In fragment, the recruitment rate was greater than mortality and basal area gain rate was greater than basal area loss. The community had a greater recruitment in plots with high L. lucidum abundance. While there was spatial segregation of species in NI plots, there was random pattern in I plots. We conclude that L. Lucidum is increasing its relative importance in community, being associated to plots with random species co-occurrence, suggesting its opportunist nature.
